How to add 20 – 30 hp on a mercedes-benz w124 200d?

I have an ’87 european model Mercedes-Benz 200d E class without a turbo. It’s a very lazy car and I have great problems going out of town with it. Can anyone advise me how to improve its power, how costly and what could i do to its engine? Please help
